![]() I'm involved in service clubs, the Red Cross, and the Environmental Club. Clubs are tight-knit and range from educating students about surgery to business affairs. It prepares them for interactions after the secure bubble of high school. This exposes teenagers to new perspectives, expanding their worldview. The student body is incredibly diverse, as it is composed of many cultures. Students have access to a plethora of AP classes, academic clubs, and service opportunities. ![]() Senior: Upper Darby High School offers a diverse and enriching experience for students. It was frustrating for teachers and our custodial staff. ![]() In the new school, with its open spaces and cool new furniture came issues with students thinking they were entitled to not cleanup after themselves. Another problem that I saw arise was discipline. The point system is degrading and it hurts many students mental health. They are a bad way of teaching students key concepts. I was in the advanced class called “Integrated I.” It was great except one thing. My courses and teachers were all very great too, except one. We had many fund raisers that made tons of money for organizations such as Alex’s Lemonade Stand. One thing that I saw was very cool was how all of the teachers and student council members were trying very hard to build our new community. It’s a new school so there are things that will change and are different. Middle school student: I am a student that was at Black Rock Middle School for my seventh grade year and I will be back for my eighth grade.
